Who was Audrey Hepburn?

Audrey Hepburn was an actress, style icon and humanitarian. 

She’s also known for being one of Old Hollywood’s most famous stars. 

Nowadays, it’s hard to know if she’s more famous for her movies, or her ultra chic sense of style.

Short Biography

Audrey Hepburn was born in Belgium and grew up in Europe. 

During World War II, while vacationing with her mother in the Netherlands, Hitler’s army captured the town.

After WWII, she went to London to pursue ballet school and a modeling career.

She was spotted by film producers and began to get bit parts in movies.

Her role in the film Roman Holiday brought her instant fame. 

After Roman Holiday, her movie career was hugely successful, and she went on to star in a number of iconic films such as Sabrina, and Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

Audrey Hepburn died in 1993 at the age of 63.

Audrey Hepburn marriages 

  • Audrey Hepburn was engaged to British businessman, James Hanson, however, she later called off the engagement once she realized they would be apart most of the time due to conflicting work.
  • Audrey Hepburn married the actor Mel Ferrer in 1954. Unfortunately they divorced 14 years later in 1968.
  • Audrey Hepburn’s second marriage was a psychiatrist, Andrea Dotti. She wore a pink gown by her close friend, Hubert de Givenchy. 
  • After her divorce from Andrea Dotti, Audrey Hepburn was with Robert Wolders after her divorce from Andrea Dotti until she did in 1993, although they never officially tied the knot.
